It's Strawberry Season...

and one of the sweetest times of the summer. A few weeks ago our friends invited us to a strawberry festival in Lancaster, PA and I knew there might be some goodies that I'd want to bring home so I decided to make some shopping bags. We arrived at Lancaster Central Market just before a little rain and there were plenty of people and vendors. I didn't see any chocolate covered strawberries but the market was crowded with wonderful strawberry delights - the best was a strawberry pie!

I filled my bag with chocolate covered pretzels and Wilbur Buds - a must have when in the Lancaster area .
The pattern for this bag was from a video I saw online.I liked making the french seams so the inside of the bag was finished. There are many videos out there but this is the one I referenced: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GTN-UoKq-Yg
The bag didn't take much fabric and I adjusted my size to the fabric I had on hand. I usually like to use fabric from my collections but I thought the strawberry fabric was perfect for the occasion. The strawberry fabric was not quilting fabric so I had to work to stuff it into the strawberry pocket so if you decide to make one, I'd recommend using quilting cotton to sew it.
After the festival I had to work off what I ate so we did a little goat yoga at The Amish Farm and House. The goats were so cute I didn't get as much exercise as I thought but I enjoyed the cuddle time. It was time to go before I knew it so I wasn't able to stop at some of the wonderful fabric stores in the area. I guess I will have to go back again soon.
