Included in this pattern are instructions to this unconventional applique pattern.  You will be cutting your chicken and heart appliques from quilt blocks which gives the quilt a shabby chic look.  Included in the pattern is a template to trace for a chicken quilting stencil. It was designed for the "Rise 'N Shine" line by Kanvas Studios but feel free to use your favorite fabric.
